In recent years, the global low-speed unmanned industry has entered a fast development phase, and by-wire chassis has gradually become the core hardware foundation for intelligent mobile robots, warehouse AGVs, campus patrol vehicles and enclosed park autonomous transport vehicles. Unlike traditional mechanical chassis, the by-wire chassis replaces physical mechanical connections with electronic signals to realize integrated control of drive, steering and braking, which perfectly matches the demand for precision, stability and easy modification in unmanned scenarios.
By-wire chassis is essentially a modular intelligent mobile platform. It integrates three core executive modules: by-wire drive, by-wire steering and by-wire braking, equipped with a dedicated chassis control domain. What makes it stand out in the industry is its standardized interface and high scalability. The mainstream models adopt CAN 2.0B communication interface with 500Kbit/S baud rate, which can be quickly connected with most mainstream controllers and upper-mounted systems. It greatly shortens the secondary development cycle and lowers the technical threshold for enterprises to deploy unmanned projects.

In terms of structural design, the mature low-speed by-wire chassis adopts front steering and rear drive layout, matched with Ackerman steering structure. The steering accuracy can reach 0.1°, and the maximum steering angle is up to 30°, ensuring flexible movement in narrow spaces such as warehouses and industrial parks. For safety redundancy, the industry mainstream adopts dual braking solution of electro-hydraulic braking plus motor braking, with a maximum braking pressure of 5Mpa. It supports power-off self-locking parking, and reaches IP44 protection level, stably operating in the environment of -5℃ to 80℃ and humidity ≤95% RH, fully meeting industrial-grade application standards.
Modular design is another key advantage of by-wire chassis. It supports customized installation of various upper-mounted equipment, and can be quickly adapted to multiple scenarios: intelligent warehouse handling, enclosed park passenger and cargo shuttle, industrial cleaning and disinfection robots, as well as university and research institution algorithm verification platforms. Take our Qingluan 930 pure by-wire intelligent chassis as an example. With a lightweight body of 80kg, it carries a maximum load of 200kg, a maximum speed of 15km/h and a cruising range of 20km. The compact size of 1300mm×750mm×450mm and 2.4m minimum turning radius make it flexible enough for various complex narrow working scenes.
Looking at the industry trend, with the continuous expansion of closed-scene unmanned landing demand, the by-wire chassis is moving towards low cost, high intelligence and full-scenario customization. More manufacturers are launching standardized mass-produced chassis platforms, abandoning complex personalized mechanical development, and helping industries such as smart logistics, intelligent manufacturing and scenic spot tourism realize unmanned and intelligent upgrading efficiently. Meanwhile, functions such as remote debugging and online firmware upgrade have become standard configurations, further reducing the later maintenance cost of equipment.
As the core "mobile skeleton" of low-speed unmanned equipment, by-wire chassis is no longer a niche accessory but a necessary infrastructure for the intelligent transformation of the industry. In the future, with the further breakthrough of autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance technology, the application boundary of by-wire chassis will continue to expand, bringing more efficient and reliable unmanned mobile solutions to global industrial and commercial scenarios.
